Matthew Vaughn wasn’t ready to unleash his ‘X-Men: First Class‘ trailer at the Super Bowl, but now he’s ready to quiet all the naysayers with this pretty kickass trailer for the prequel.

Matthew Vaughn has had an interesting and rough ride with ‘X-Men: First Class‘. He knew going in it was going to be an uphill battle since the last few films in the X-Men franchise haven’t been so hot, but when he started boasting that his film would make you forget all the other Summer 2011 movies then hit with that first image that sent fans in a tizzy, things didn’t look so good.

We were hearing from our sources on the film that Fox wanted to premiere the trailer for Super Bowl, Vaughn held his ground knowing that he had to put out something pretty amazing after the build up and seeming let down from fans. Obviously, Vaughn was smart in doing this since ‘X-Men’ might have gotten lost in all the other big movies that premiered spots at the Super Bowl. Waiting till after now seems pretty smart, and it also looks like Matthew Vaughn has redeemed himself with this trailer. Using January Jones as a set piece always helps too. See what you think below.

X-Men: First Class Synopsis
“X-Men: First Class” charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

@weegee01 As far as their fame goes they can be considered unknowns. None of the new actors are anywhere near as popular as when Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen made the first xmen.
