Vin Diesel is riding his action star comeback and showing off his new ‘Riddick‘ movie set image along with his NAACP award nomination for playing Dom Toretto in ‘Fast Five‘.

This time around, it appears Vin Diesel isn’t taking his action star status for granted, and he spouts feel good messages on his Facebook fanpage every few days, plus images of himself. You wonder how he survived before social media hit. As we said way back, Diesel knew that ‘Fast Five‘ could bring his seemingly dormant career back on track, and it definitely did, being one of the best films of that franchise. Now he’s earned an NAACP Image Award nomination for his role, plus, his ‘Riddick‘ movie that he’s been championing for years is prepping for production. Naturally, he used his Facebook page to reveal the first look from the set above. He’s smart to know to thank all his fans for making ‘Riddick’ happen as the studio never would have if ‘Fast Five’ had just brought in a ho-hum box office.

Director David Twohy is back for his third Riddick film that doesn’t have a set in stone release date yet, but as with ‘Fast Five’ Diesel knows this one has to have some major bang to keep it alive. Basically, if he can best the original ‘Pitch Black’ or even be half as good, that will help fans forgive that mismash mess called ‘The Chronicles Of Riddick‘. ‘Battlestar Galactica‘ actress Katee Sackhoff recently came onboard the film as, Dahl, a Nordic mercenary tasked with hunting down Riddick. Jordi Molla is playing the movie’s bad guy, a man named Santana bent on killing Riddick, and Karl Urban is back as Lord Vaako.
