True Blood Gone Gone Gone had it’s first real touching moment last night with Jason Stackhouse and Hoyt saying goodbye, and here’s a slew of new images from the upcoming Finally episode which seems to be aptly titled as it looks like we’ll be saying that as the show gets back on track.

As I reported yesterday, True Blood was frustrating me with it’s multiple storylines, but last night with Gone, Gone, Gone, it felt like Alan Ball is finally streamlining the storylines with the upcoming Finally episode. That title couldn’t be more accurate with how most of us have been feeling with it. Now if you’ve not seen last night’s episode, read no further since I’m doing a bit of a recap, but mainly we have a slew of new images from next Sunday’s episode, and then it’s just one more left.

I was impressed with the way Hoyt’s character was dealt with and I’ve already heard that Jim Parrack won’t be returning, but they ended his journey perfectly. I think many of us have been there when you’re in that relationship that ends badly and the other person seems to have moved on when you can’t. All the crazy things he was doing from being a fangbanger to joining the Barack Obama hate group was part of that flailing feeling trying to find your identity again afterward. The scene at Merlotte’s reminded of that classic scene from Angel when Buffy had come to town and Angel had been infected with blood that made him human. They were able to do everything but then he realized he had to go back and everything they had shared was forgotten by Buffy but he would always remember what they had shared for one day.
Hoyt being at such a point he had to ask Jessica to glamour him so he could move on with his life even though that meant forgetting what they had and his longtime friendship with Jason. Then later when Jason stopped Hoyt and saw that he was now a stranger to him and his reaction was what I’ve always loved about this show. One minute it’s action and violence, then humor and then you’re tearing up.

The Bill and Eric storyline is finally getting more focus, and I like the way they are keeping us questioning what he’s really doing. He saw that the Lilith blood is more of a hallucinogenic drug, but he still is continuing on a power role with Russell. His character has always had those power issues so I’m curious as to how this will play out when Sookie is back in the picture. This will be all coming together in Sunday’s episode as Russell has gotten his hands on poor Jason. His character still makes me smile like last night when he was holding the bear with a dress at Sookie’s and still couldn’t help looking under the dress of the stuffed animal. In the books, he was turned into a werepanther, but many are wondering if he might wind up getting turned into a vampire from Jessica after getting killed by Russell ala Tara.

We’ve also learned that poor Sookie’s family did some bargaining and now her life is up as she’s the first female in the line in a long long time. They’ve been keeping Anna Paquin a little less active and wearing a little bit more baggy garb, but she’s definitely got the pregnant glow going on. Pam and Tara have become the fab little duo and I can’t wait to see what happens with that Mary Kay looking Vampire Authority woman when she hits Fantasia and goes up against those two. Finally, it’s great to be looking forward to a True Blood episode rather than just watching it out of habit!
