Colin Farrell is back for another August with another cult favorite movie remake, and this time he plays the Arnold Schwarzenegger role in the sci-fi action thriller ‘Total Recall‘. Here’s a bunch of high octane action clips and images until the next round hits.

Colin Farrell surprised everyone in last August’s ‘Fright Night‘ remake, so I’m curious to see what he does in the role that was tailor made for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Total Recall. The clips and trailers have looked pretty fun, and after a summer full of superheroes, watching a straight up sci-fi actioner should make for a nice way to end the summer. And then of course, The Expendables 2 will be charging along at us too. It’s definitely been a great summer for all types of movie genres, and thankfully August isn’t such the dropping zone for movies the studios aren’t so sure about.

This weekend could be a rough one for the box office as Research firm NRG, which film companies use to track interest in their movies, has informed its clients that 20 percent to 25 percent of the moviegoing audience is hestitant to make a trip to the cinema because of last week’s The Dark Knight Rises James Holmes shooting tragedy. Hopefully, people won’t succomb to that since that would just make someone like that happy to know that they had that much of an effect on so many people. The biggest films that would be affected if this happens is The Watch and Adam Shankman’s Step Up Revolution.

If this weekend box office takes a hit, then Total Recall could be in a little bit of trouble since suddenly everyone wants to blame violent action movies for the Holmes shooting in Aurora Colorado. Interestingly enough over the years, we’ve seen films get an R rating for a little too much sex, but films where people get blown away from guns have mostly gotten a PG-13 and no one was complaining then. If people want to blame films for controlling them, that’s just a sad sad statement. This was tried with the Don Murphy produced Natural Born Killers when two kids went on a rampage claiming the film made them do it…if that’s the case then every company is open game. If you get fat, blame the McDonald’s commercial for doing it to you. Hopefully the people just trying for ratings spikes wont’ be taken seriously and more people will realize that it’s more about personal responsibility rather than pointing fingers. Everyone loves to point and say it’s someone else’s fault, but eventually, it comes down to each of us knowing what’s right and wrong. Hearing so many kneejerk reactions this week just drives me crazy and the victims in this incident are left on their own once again. We keep seeing these seemingly random shootings over time and time again and the same idiots say the same thing over and over, but then within a year or two it happens all over again.
The theater chains are stepping up security so rather than give in to the fear mongers, enjoy your life and do what you want to do…as long as you’re not hurting someone else, of course!
