Tom Hardy’s got a very busy year with ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ and here’s some on set images from his latest action thriller ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy‘ movie.

With ‘Inception‘, suddenly all eyes were on Tom Hardy, and he’s definitely on the most watched lists in Hollywood. Chris Nolan loves him, and quickly put him in his latest installment of the Batman trilogy ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘. We’ve been sent several on set shots of Tom Hardy hard at work and play on his latest film ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy‘ based on the John Le Carre spy novel. These shots are definitely out there to pull in those that wouldn’t normally check out this type of action film as you’ll see below.

For ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’, Tom Hardy is surrounded by quite the cast, but word on the set already is that this film is all his once again. The rest of the cast includes Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Stephen Graham.
‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’ is the first book in Le Carre’s “Karla Trilogy”. In 1979 the BBC adapted the book into a seven-part series starring Alec Guinness as George Smiley, and BBC Radio 4 has adapted the book, twice, once in 1988, and again in 2009 so it’ll be interesting to see how this version holds up. Covered in homemade/prison looking tattoos and topped off with a dirty blond wig, Hardy plays a British operative named Ricki Tarr in this adaptation of John Le Carre’s 1974 spy novel. The film tells the story of George Smiley (played by Gary Oldman), as he roots out a mole inside of British intelligence. If you’ve seen Hardy’s ‘Bronson‘ film, you’ll know he has no problem getting down and dirty for a role.
‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’ is set for release September 16, 2011 in the UK, but no dates have been set for North America yet.
