Sadly, we knew this was coming with the horrific marketing that was done for ‘John Carter’ so Disney can now blame the film for having to write down $200 million in operating losses. This is the Mouse House’s fourth year in a row in writing down a hefty budget fiasco.
Disney is still pushing out as much ‘John Carter’ marketing they can with even the latest trailer hitting today which is feeling more like an act of desperation. ‘John Carter’ could learn from ‘Wrath Of the Titans’ on how to make a trailer that’s thrilling but still tell you what the story is. The latest trailer shows Sam Worthington among monsters, and this will obviously make up for ‘Clash Of the Titans’.
Director/writer Andrew Stanton is letting everyone know that he and Michael Chabon are already working on the sequel for ‘John Carter’, but Disney hasn’t given any signs for greenlighting it.
Taylor Kitsch is John Carter with some new images and trailers.
‘John Carter’ is that movie that seems like it’ll be better just waiting for blu-ray to watch at home, but at least the latest trailer below shows that it’s not taking itself too seriously.
