The body count hasn’t stopped since we reported yesterday that Dana Delany’s ‘Body Of Proof’ ratings starved show dumped Nicholas Bishop and John Carroll Lynch. Now Sonja Sohn joins the exiting actors as the ratings starved ABC show does a major revamp.

Fans are surely going to be stunned when ‘Body Of Proof‘ comes back on ABC, not just because of the shorter season, but a big chunk of the major cast will be absent. We reported yesterday that Nicholas Bishop, who played second fiddle to Dana Delany as Peter Dunlop, andnc John Carroll Lynch were not renewed to the medical show, but now the last remaining detective on the show played by Sonja Sohn won’t be returning either.
Lynch is the only one of the trio that isn’t affected as he’ll be back with the NBC drama ‘Do No Harm‘. Even after attempting to do an end of the world type virus story arc last season, the ratings starved show still didn’t pick up any steam. The season ender felt a little desperate as Meghan Hunt’s character was in danger of being killed only to be saved by Peter Dunlap (Bishop), who wound up taking the cuts…then wound up getting the cut that hurts the worst for any actor. I kept hearing all last season that there was plenty of tension between Delany and Bishop on set so perhaps he found out who the real boss of the show was. Now Delany will be getting younger male sidekick to play fight with who’s described as “a 30something male ethnic guy who works in the medical examiner’s office and spars with Hunt.”
Deadline is reporting that the show will be getting new detectives so the show won’t be just medical examiner focused. Most troubled shows have a tendency to get crazy with firing off a bulk of the cast hoping that the new faces will liven up and bring in more viewers and hopefully a younger demographic. ‘Body Of Proof’ is a nice show, but if it hadn’t been for it winning tax credits from the California Film Commission’s $100 million allocation this show would be off the air.
