NSFW: Shia LaBeouf Shows Off His Artistic Side With Sigur Rós

It looks like Shia LaBeouf is taking some lessons from James Franco and doing more things he wants to do rather than films like ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’. Along with selling his own comics, he’s also stripped himself down inside and out for the latest Sigur Rós video.

Fans of Shia LaBeouf will be pleasantly surprised perhaps to find that the actor is spreading his wings and going the more artful route after ending his run in Michael Bay’s ‘Transformers‘ movie franchise. It will definitely take many aback as the only explosions and action are the inner turmoil of a couple completely dependent upon addictions and desires. Naturally, many will focus on the fact that LaBeouf is proudly showing off his Labeouf in the Sigur Rós video, but the video is oddly compelling and reminded me of a better version of ‘9 1/2 Weeks‘ from the 80′s meets ‘Sid and Nancy‘. I love the concept that these musicians are doing as this is the third film in the Sigur Rós Mystery Film Experiment series, in which a dozen filmmakers receive the same budget to create whatever inspires them while listening to songs from the the Icelandic band’s new album, Valtari. You don’t have many groups marketing like this anymore and the results have been rather stunning, disturbing, but they’re getting people talking and wondering what they’ve just seen. Besides some naked LaBeouf! The actor does everything from going on an underwater car ride, crying at the sight of a room full of mounted butterflies on a wall, to committing some crazy kind of bloody sexual assault, but it’s so fascinating you just keep watching. The fact that he and his girl (Denna Thomsen) go back and forth from being naked to nearly naked doesn’t even distract you as what they’re doing is rather captivating.

This video will definitely make Hollywood take notice as it’ll easily get passed around quickly, and taking some time away from the big blockbusters that made him some money will help the young actor figure out where to take his career next. It’s kinda cool that he’s doing things like this along with making his own handmade comics at regional conventions definitely makes me think a little more highly of the actor who’s been named Shia LeDouche on more than one occasion from cast members and crew workers on his films.
