Those ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ are on drama patrol 24/7, and now Phedra Parks has filed a multi-million dollar libel lawsuit against Vibe and NeNe Leakes talks about being torn to return to Atlanta, but Bravo won’t be putting her on ‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills‘.
‘The Real Housewives Of Atlanta‘ has only been shooting for three weeks, but they’re already promising plenty of drama, and it sounds like Phaedra Parks has got a good storyline to show she is a good lawyer (well maybe). The southern belle filed a lawsuit this week which demands a jury trial, $5 million in compensatory and $25 million in punitive damages, and retractions. Sounds just our Phaedra, and I’m assuming they’ll be working this into the new season’s storyline. It seems a March article on the Vibe website ruffled the Housewives feathers, entitled “Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Star Phaedra Parks Exposed“, and the spunky one is not having any of it. It seems there were a few articles and then Augustus Publishing (which is under the Vibe Holdings umbrella) published a quickie e-book “Lies Of A Real Housewife,” by Angela Stanton.
The lawsuit says, “In its entirety, the book falsely portrays the relationship between Plaintiff and Stanton as that of friends and accomplices in criminal activity,” and “conveys a picture of Plaintiff as a crooked attorney engaged in a multitude of criminal acts, who conspires with Stanton to commit these acts, and who then uses Stanton in an effort to escape criminal liability for those acts.” It seems the book ties in husband Apollo in the dark doings (as per the book), and why he went to prison. That has never really been said on the show, and the book has plenty to say about Phaedra and her early life. We all know this is what happens when you become a celebrity, but it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out in court. Also, will Phaedra be representing herself???
Now for our favorite Housewife, NeNe, who’s turned her reality stint into a wonderful career with the help of ‘Glee’s’ Ryan Murphy. In a recent interview with Vibe (yeah, the same one that Phaedra’s suing for $30 million), NeNe talked about struggling with coming back to “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” knowing it would be the same drama she’s dealt with for the past four seasons. She’s smart enough to know that you can’t bite that hand that started you and Hollywood is very fickle. Especially with reality stars where shelf life is about as long as an Advertising Execs. Sure, she’s got ‘Glee’ and ‘The New Normal’ which she says she didn’t even have to audition for since Murphy wrote it specifically for her, but that alone doesn’t ensure security. Plus that ‘Housewives’ paycheck isn’t too shabby, and it’s the same one that helped her get a career going in the first place. She also speaks about being so calm last season, but as she says, she was just tired from all her other work!
There were plenty of rumors that NeNe would be jumping shit to join ‘The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ since she’s spending so much time in Los Angeles, but Bravo wants to keep her in Atlanta. Our source over there said “We love Nene, but Atlanta is the perfect place for her since I don’t think those Beverly Hills women would know what to do with her. I love that she’s so direct, but as we know in LA, passive aggressive behavior is the norm.”
