Rumors claimed that it was just a Bravo ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta‘ stunt, but NeNe Leakes is single again after finally getting her official divorce from Gregg Leakes. It did come out that even though she’s acting over all those other women, she’s coming back for another round on Season 5.
You can bet that Andy Cohen will be bringing up NeNe Leakes officially being divorced from husband Gregg in one of the two upcoming ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Reunion specials. I found it odd that so many fans thought it was a fake storyline, but there’s only one housewife who seems to be good at faking those…yes, Ms. Sheree Whitfield. For anyone who’s been in a long-term relationship, sometimes letting go isn’t all that easy, but NeNe finally did, and her future is definitely looking very bright. It’s already been confirmed that she’ll be returning to Season 5 of Housewives even though you wouldn’t know it the way she seemed to be so tired of it all on the show tonight. Last season’s reunion felt more like a plug for everyone’s products, but tonight there was definitely more drama.
Sheree seemed very desperate, especially when Andy Cohen asked if she was wearing everyone’s favorite joke ‘She By Sheree’, and she grappled to say that it was coming back. You just know that was surely one of her final attempts to get Bravo to keep her around for another season, but we’ve had our very reliable sources at the network confirm that she’s out. They had more to say about her too. “We all just feel so relieved that she’s gone since it was getting pathetic having to shoot all of her non-events. Fans will be thrilled with the new housewife we have joining the ladies.”
NeNe is going to be doing some juggling since ‘Glee’ creator is so happy with her performance on his hit show that he’s already got her lined up for his upcoming NBC comedy pilot ‘The New Normal‘, about a blended family of a gay couple and their surrogate. She’ll have a heavily recurring role, and we’ve heard that she’ll have some guest spots on next season’s ‘Glee‘ plus a possible appearance on Murphy’s other hit show on FX, ‘American Horror Story‘. Since Housewives normally shoots Spring and Summer, Ms. Leakes will be working on her frequent flyer miles. I give the lady credit though, she’s not leaving the show that made her a celebrity. Plus knowing that careers in Hollywood with reality stars usually are short lived, she’s keeping her day job if Murphy’s pilot doesn’t get picked up.
So on to a quickie about that reunion show. It definitely has felt all season that Sheree (who tried the acting thing last year after the odd dating a doctor storyline) has been just eaten up with envy over Leakes success, and it showed royally. I had to cringe when she brought of NeNe’s son since it felt more like just another way for her to attack, even though Ms. Leakes can take quite good care of herself. It just felt very shady, and I had to laugh my ass off over NeNe’s name for Sheree’s mansion to nowhere ‘Neverland’ since it’s just never gonna be more than just some dirt and sticks. NeNe did make me frown some this season when she seemed very judgmental about Kandi Burruss creating a very successful sex toy business and seemed the same way on the show tonight. I like her, but sometimes it feels like she’s so ready to attack that attacks are made for absolutely no reason. We know they’ll be popping Marlo Hampton in at the most inappropriate moment so Andy Cohen can smile and get all eyes lit up, but Kim Zolciak will be making sure that everyone knows she won’t be returning. It was definitely more entertaining than last season’s, and we know the drama will keep amping up through Part 2 and 3. Once I find out who the new housewife will be, you all will be the first to know!
