It feels like it’s been so long since Rafael Nadal has been on any tennis courts, but now it appears the tennis phenom has bounced back after tearing his tendon and ready for the Australian Open in 2013. Plus we were sent an accidental prank of Nadal in the men’s locker room with Fabio Fognini below.

Rafael Nadal has been off the tennis courts since July after tearing his patella tendon at Wimbledon last June forcing him to pull out of both the 2012 London Olympic Games and the 2012 US Tennis Open where Andy Murray stunned everyone defeating both Novak Djokovic and fan favorite Roger Federer.
Australian Open director Craig Tiley shared the news this week after getting a text from Nadal with a picture of him doing stretches. He let him know that he’d be competing at Melbourne much to every fan’s delight.
“He did text last week and we had direct communication with him and he is planning to be back toward the end of the year and definitely play in the Australian Open,” Tiley said.
Nadal played it smart making sure that he was 100 percent recovered, and since his absence he’s fallen to the No. 4 position in the world ATP rankings. Nadal is set to return at an Abu Dhabi exhibition tournament at the end of December. Also competing will be Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and David Ferrer.
Last year he finished second in the Australian Open after losing in quite the nail biting match against Djokovic, but with his recovery and anxiousness to get back on the courts, don’t expect a repeat.
On the lighter side, we were sent a funny video of Nadal in the men’s locker room and taps Fabio Fognini on his way out on the thigh which accidentally resulted in the tennis players towel to slip down. I’d say it’s NSFW but very innocent plus you get a good look at how the tennis courts do rather well for Fognini’s glutes!
