Paranormal Activity 4 has just brought on a full trailer and clip about ‘What Really Happened?‘ plus there’s a new poster that is a nice variation of the others for continuity sake. The trailer looks like what you expect from this franchise, and that’s a good thing along with Katie Featherston being back.

Paranormal Activity 4 leaves 1988 and brings us back to the present (or 2011) which is exactly five years after the abduction of Hunter by his Aunt Katie. I thought Paranormal Activity 3 made really clever use of that less techie age like the ceiling fan. With horror, it’s the simple things that can give us the biggest scares and it worked.
Now with the present day, webcam is going to be used, and just thinking about living in our large house and hearing the alarm tell you that the front and back doors are open when you’re alone will give some a chill. I wonder if such an alarm system exists since it would be nice to have one to tell you exactly what’s open in your house before you get that PA surprise.
Paramount and the filmmakers know they’ve got a winning formula with this franchise so you know what you’re getting so those that hated the first three films will probably give this one a pass or go wondering why all their friends love it so much and they don’t. Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Catfish) are back after doing a good job on Paranormal Activity 3 to direct with Zack Estrin writing the script.
It also great to have Katie Featherston back so we can find out exactly what she did to baby Hunter Rey after abducting him in a possessed state after killing off her family. From the trailer, you can tell the kids a little f’d up as he just stands in front of the neighbors house freaking her out. Trust me, if you’ve ever had someone camp outside of your house, this part will bring back those bad memories…trust me. I’ve loved each of these films form the beginning, and thankfully, the studio and filmmakers actually treat each film with respect so I’m expecting no less from the latest installment. Oh, and the witchy symbol is back!
