Michael Bay’s ‘Pain and Gain‘ is letting Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson get back to his wrestling roots with this latest movie set image that definitely lets you know what The Rock is cooking. The man definitely likes his meat in all forms!
It’s easy to forget that Dwayne Johnson aka ‘The Rock‘ started out in wrestling as his movie career has taken ‘The Rock’ out of his screen name, but Michael Bay is making sure to remind everyone of his famous odd motto ‘Can you smell what ‘The Rock’ is cooking?’ I’d imagine after an intense battle in the ring, he’s smelling like his cooking got a little ripe. Bay is definitely going to get some fans back who’ve not been crazy about all those ‘Transformers’ movies by going a route less traveled for the big budget maestro. Just the fact that for him to do ‘Transformers 4‘, Paramount sweetened the deal for him to do his low budget comedy ‘Pain and Gain‘, pairing up Mark Wahlberg (already showing his great comedic skills plus the upcoming ‘Ted‘) and Dwayne Johnson, already known for his funny side.
Just the picture gives you an idea of how dark Bay’s comedy about a pair of bodybuilders who are tangled up in an extortion ring and kidnapping scheme that goes haywire will go. This is one of Bay’s films I’m actually looking forward to which just sounds strange to say, but I think many of you will be thinking the same thing. This line pretty much describes the film better than anyone else can. “They were local bodybuilders with a penchant for steroids, strippers, and quick cash. And they became expert in the use of a peculiar motivational tool: Torture.” ‘Pain and Gain’ also stars Anthony Mackie, Ken Jeong, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry and Tony Shaloub, and will hit theaters next year. This is one film that won’t skimp on the beef!
