Nick Jonas made a ripple of news yesterday tweeting out that he was being considered to be an American Idol judge, but our sources over there say that’s looking more like a pipe dream for his fans.

American Idol seems to be trying the Simon Cowell X Factor USA stunt to fill the judges seats, and naturally, everyone who could us a career bump is tweeting or implying that they’re up for consideration. Nick Jonas, he was one of those Jonas Brothers who are now doing reality shows, tweeted out:
The rumors are true… I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens.

There’s been plenty of rumors from Adam Lambert (who’d be perfect for the job) to Kenny Chesney (who says he’d suck as a judge, and I’m sure Renee Z would support that comment), Brad Paisley (‘Country is America,’ Nigel Lythgoe stated), but we checked in with our sources over at the show. They weren’t nearly as hyperbolic about his tweet as his fans were, but they were considerate. “Just because Nick Jonas Tweeted the news, doesn’t make it so. Sometimes in this industry you’ve got people hounding you for a job, and rather than be rude and say, No, sometimes you just have to say that you’ll consider it. This is definitely the case this time, and the kid seems to have really jumped the gun hoping that it’ll get more press attention for him.”
This really hasn’t gotten much attention for the 19-year old singer, but after the Brothers Jonas announced in March that they’ll be putting out a new album with no date set, don’t be surprised if that news comes up again on the heels of the lack of press response to this one. His other brothers have jumped on the reality show bandwagon to get another phase of their careers started, but it’s not sound like American Idol will be the next chapter for the younger Jonas.
Kevin Jonas, is starring on a reality show creatively called Married to Jonas which follows him and his wife around as they are looking rather desperate to get careers back on track. Joe Jonas is on another really crucial show The Next: Fame Is At Your Doorstep, where he acts as a mentor for aspiring doorsteps.
Right now with everyone jumping ship, except for Randy Jackson who worked a great deal to add his client Mariah Carey as a judge cementing his future on American Idol, the producers are really watching their pennies. Our source also said that one name that’s repeatedly been coming up time and time again is Justin Timberlake if only a deal could be worked out to please everyone. This would make a great choice as he’s got the everything factor for a show like this, plus it could give the show more of a hip factor that is so desperately needed.
