Stephen Soderbergh & Channing Tatum’s ‘Magic Mike’ is stepping up and showing more beef over story with this latest international trailer, but this time fans of Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello and Alex Pettyfer will be happy to see more of the men showing their stuff off.

The first ‘Magic Mike‘ trailer hit, it focused on Channing Tatum’s character wanting more than just a stripping career as he shows his love interest his fine furniture making skills. Naturally, many people wanted to see more than just his furniture wood so this time around Stephen Soderberg’s UK trailer gives you more of what you wanted. It also shows the pretty absent Alex Pettyfer off much more now (much much more!) and shows the storyline between he and Tatum. If you remember, Tatum is the magical Mike who takes Pettyfer under his muscular wing. The scene in the trailer where Pettyfer’s character says that they should be best friends in a little cringe worthy, but I think most of us have met people who’ve been drawn into our lives and said the exact thing. The cringe usually comes from remembering that time and how the person got very needy on us.

The entire cast seems to be really game for plugging the movie in the press, so don’t be surprised if this one turns out to be the fun summer sleeper hit that everyone winds up going too. Test audiences have been loving the film and a few of our readers have been in that testing phase so things are looking good for the latest Soderberg/Tatum collaboration. Tatum did say in a recent interview, “This movie isn’t about my life.” The film’s been publicized heavily as having been based on the actors two year stint as a male stripper to pay the bills. “[The plot] has nothing to do with me other than that there’s an 18, 19-year-old kid coming into this world. That’s it. [But] I think the world is pretty damn accurate. Everything you see in the movie is stuff that I saw.” Tatum also said that “With Joe Manganiello in a movie, I think even straight guys are going to be, ‘S**t, I need to see that,” he joked before adding, “That man is a specimen.” That’s an understatement as many of you readers will agree. Now here’s a bunch of images from the film that features your favorite beef.

Starring: Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello, Alex Rodriguez
Directed By: Stephen Soderbergh
Release Date: June 29, 2012

In a recent EW interview, the actors talked about how their girlfriends and boyfriends (at least Matt Bomer’s) were supportive of the movie and all the fun the guys had cheering each other on. They even stayed when there were all done filming to enjoy the fun and keep the party rolling. Having worked on a reality show dealing with the world of male strippers, I can understand how the guys got on so well as it’s definitely a very fraternal type camaraderie with the guys. If you’re expecting some ‘Striptease‘ catfights, it won’t be happening in this one. Just lots of male bonding.
