Michael Not Strahan From Kelly Ripa For GOOD MORNING AMERICA

Contrary to rumors, Michael Strahan won’t be leaving Kelly Ripa and his Live With Kelly and Michael morning talk show, but he’ll be joining ABC’s Good Morning America on a part time basis. With the recent departures of Sam Champion and Josh Elliott there was a hole to fill in the morning show so Strahan was quickly chosen.

He will be joining Good Morning America cast George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts, Amy Robach, Lara Spencer and weather forecaster Ginger Zee.

“The big news is that I’m gonna be on ‘GMA’ now,” he announced to the Live with Kelly and Michael audience today. “So what is so surprising is I had a meeting, and we talked about the possibility there, and then I went to see Captain America with Samuel L. Jackson and I get out of screening and I check my messages and I’m on ‘Good Morning America.’

Strahan was quick to let everyone know that he won’t be leaving Ripa as he’ll be working semi-regularly during the show’s first hour.

“I don’t think I could do it every day. I have a lot going on. I have to be smart about it,” he said. “I just want everyone to know and [Kelly] to know that no matter what, this is my number one priority, and you [Kelly] are my number one priority, and I would never do anything to jeopardize the quality of what I do here.”

Strahan was a surprise choice to fill Regin Philbin’s seat during the fall of 2012, but he’s proven himself very adept for morning talk shows which is why ABC set their sites on him and worked out a deal to his advantage to make sure they landed. Also being an analyst on Fox’s NFL Sunday, Michael Strahan will be working as hard as he did on the field.

  1. Why is he being sogreedy and taking 3 jobs. Doesn’t he think maybe someone else might need that job. Doesn’t he make enough money now and when he played football
