Logo, the leading cabler for the gay community, acquired the rights to male gymnastic events at the 2012 Olympic Games. The event was also packaged with the opening ceremony and, of course, Olympic Spirit.
Logo will keep NBC’s incredibly flamboyant peacock.
“Bringing gymnastics to cable allows us to run some of the gayer events in primetime, uncensored,” said Logo’s President Lisa Sherman.
“NBC had to wait until after 10 pm to air the Floor Routine. And they pixilated the event where guys dance around with little ribbons.”
Logo plans to keep NBC’s incredibly flamboyant peacock insignia, while adding their slogan, “FierceTV.”
As the Olympics kicks off today, Sherman released this statement: “It doesn’t matter whether you’re straight or gay. What matters is our channel is really gay, and so is gymnastics.”
