Jason Statham kicks more male butt in ‘The Mechanic’ movie remake, and here’s the first official trailer and images. Statham’s Mechanic hits theaters January 28, 2011.

Luckily, we’ve got Jason Statham kicking some intense male butt for the January winter doldrums when ‘The Mechanic‘ hits theaters January 28, 2011. A remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson film of the same name, “The Mechanic” features Jason Statham teaching young Ben Foster the basics of how to be a hit-man as they both pursue Foster’s father’s (Donald Sutherland) killers. From the looks of it, this touching tale is less a “buddy” story between Statham and Foster and more of an all out kill-fest. If you’re not familiar with Ben Foster, check out the remake of 3:10 To Yuma and he’s played a kickass bad guy, and he also played the angle guy in X-Men.

Here’s what Jason Statham’s Mechanic is all about. Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) is a ‘mechanic’ – an elite assassin with a strict code and unique talent for cleanly eliminating targets. It’s a job that requires professional perfection and total detachment, and Bishop is the best in the business. But when his mentor and close friend Harry (Donald Sutherland) is murdered, Bishop is anything but detached. His next assignment is self-imposed – he wants those responsible dead.

His mission grows complicated when Harry’s son Steve (Ben Foster) approaches him with the same vengeful goal and a determination to learn Bishop’s trade. Bishop has always acted alone but he can’t turn his back on Harry’s son. A methodical hit man takes an impulsive student deep into his world and a deadly partnership is born. But while in pursuit of their ultimate mark, deceptions threaten to surface and those hired to fix problems become problems themselves.

‘The Mechanic’ and Jason Statham hit theaters January 28, 2011. Yup, they’re sticking him with the awful January month, which Statham deserves better than.
