Justin Bieber Shows His Promo Skills With Naked Hoax For Nicki Minaj Video Release

Justin Bieber’s people had a savvy idea getting him to cry wolf on Twitter right before he dropped his latest Beauty and A Beat music video featuring Nicki Minaj. Bieber’s latest album didn’t live up to expectations, so he knew to tantalize fans with the prospect that he slipped into ‘accidental’ leaked sex tape territory. Even Hulk Hogan acted more realistic about his.

What better way to drive up some public interest for Justin Bieber’s latest music video, Beauty and A Beat with Nicki Minaj than that old trusty, ‘I lost my laptop and I had a lot of personal footage on there’. Fans immediately thought sex tape or naked images, and suddenly one was delivered quickly on the internet. We’re not going to post the pic on here, but you can check it out here or here instead, if you’re so inclined. After fans grumbled that they felt a little duped by this hoax, his publicist went into instant damage control mode stating that his laptop actually had been stolen Tuesday night in Washington. Tacoma police confirmed that a police report was filed too.

Of course, readers immediately sent over the shots, and I just couldn’t bring myself to even take a peek since the Biebs just doesn’t do it for me. I give him credit for this stunt, especially with the creation of a Twitter user who seemed to be threatening to reveal this tape which turned out to be the music video. Below is an example of this:

His fans are very savvy and they took to inspecting every inch of the photos to verify if his nipples and tattoos matched. The verdict was that his nipples have a different shape and smoothness than the ones in the picture. I can only imagine what the person who discovered the inconsistencies was like going to those extremes. Bieber got the reaction he was aiming for, and he pulled of a big stunt on the fans who didn’t see it coming. What’s he’s going to have to do next for the next album to do well?

Earlier this week, Bieber collaborated with Nassau County DA Kathleen Rice to drop a public service announcement aimed at helping kids fight cyberbullies and avoid other Internet traps. This was part of a plea bargain for manager Scott Braun and Def Jam Records executive James Ropp who faced misdemeanor charges in connection to an out-of-control mob of 3,000 girls that came to get the Bieb’s autograph in 2009.

“Kids are mean and they don’t realize how hurtful what they’re saying can possibly be to the person they’re saying this stuff to — cause to them, it’s just a word,” Bieber said. “Sometimes you’d rather be physically beaten up than emotionally damaged.”

The Biebs also said he knows what it’s like to be bullied.

“I was picked on,” he said. “It’s a tough feeling. But at the end of the day, you can get through it.”
