Joss Whedon talks more about bringing ‘The Avengers‘ character to life on the big screen, plus new images of the gang hit including Thor, Loki, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Captain America.

After all the weekend excitement of ‘The Hunger Games’ Joss Whedon’s ‘Avengers‘ movie had to get in on the marketing action so below you can check out a cool featurette talking about how the six superheroes came together for one film. What’s interesting in the clip is that the speak about the huge box office success of ‘Iron Man’ which led Marvel to try out a movie for ‘The Incredible Hulk’ to test the waters before doing ‘The Avengers’ movie. The interesting thing is that after saying how big ‘Iron Man‘ did at the box office, they quickly gloss over ‘Hulk’ and then back to ‘Iron Man 2‘ doing good box office. Another funny thing is that this is sponsored by Norton, but not that Ed Norton from the last ‘Hulk’ movie who didn’t make the cut and Mark Ruffalo became the third Hulk in the franchise. Hopefully this one will stick after Eric Bana and Norton got ground up by the superhero. It was just one of those things that makes you smirk and I got a slew of e-mails from some other ‘places’ that quickly pointed that out to me.

Here’s the new images and still from the movie and Joss Whedon doing his directorial magic on the set with Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson and Thor’s Chris Hemsworth looking thoughtful and taking it all in.
