Each trailer for Rian Johnson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s ‘Looper’ reveals a little bit more but not too much. The latest UK trailer for the trippy sci-fi actioner from the ‘Brick’ duo has got me looking forward to this film in the fall.

It’s finally not about Joseph Gordon-Levitt trying to look like a younger Bruce Willis in ‘Looper‘ (he definitely doesn’t look like himself though), but about the action and the plot which the latest UK trailer reveals in some nice detail. Director Rian Johnson did take to his Twitter to let people know “If you’re already set on seeing Looper, I’d avoid any trailers from here on out. They don’t ruin the movie, but they tip a few little things.” He did say later that the trailers don’t give away too much, but for those that like to go into a movie cold without knowing anything, you should keep yourself in the dark and just hear what everyone around you is saying. Reactions are mixed on this film, but Gordon-Levitt always gives every film his all, even if they’re not the greatest ones, but he lifts them higher than they would have been with another actor.
The official North American trailer hits tomorrow, but this one will easily make any fan happy as the first one showed the world of ‘Looper‘ this one shows more character development and leaves you wondering if Gordon-Levitt is the bad guy or the good guy as he’s torn between killing his future self and completing the job he was hired for. Emily Blunt brings out her badass side as a gun toting woman, and it’s great to see her continue evolving into more interesting roles. It’s a cool ‘Terminatoresque‘ plot with older Joe from the future coming back to kill ‘The Rainmaker‘ who’s the boss of that future. So will it take the unexpected turn with Levitt destroying the future self or teaming up to make a better future for himself. The average Joe would think if you kill your future self then you’ve basically killed yourself, but the beauty with science fiction is nothing is ever certain. Kind of like with the upcoming election this fall!
