Janet Jackson is all set as the newest judge to join Simon Cowell and LA Reid on the ‘X Factor USA‘, and now discussions continue with Ryan Seacrest and Pink.

While everyone’s speculating over Janet Jackson’s coyishness about being a judge on Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor USA’, the singer has already signed on to join LA Reid. If Cowell has his way, Pink will be onboard too. Our FOX source told us this morning “Janet was on Simon’s wishlist, but with talks for Mariah [Carey] not working, she’s the perfect replacement for sweetie Paula [Abdul]. Pink will be more direct which is something Nicole [Scherzinger] was just incapable of.”

We’re hearing that Ryan Seacrest is just this close to finally coming on board after some major back and forth as the host for the ‘X Factor’. He’s perfect, and with American Idol getting diluted with all the singing competitions, Seacrest can demand a sweet package deal to either host both shows or just leave the Idol sinking ship.

Cowell has been enjoying stealing some of the spotlight from both ‘American Idol’ and ‘The Voice’ this season and getting a lot of media focus on ‘X Factor’ both in the USA and UK. He’s done some major house cleaning which was needed, and in the shakeup, he’s been able to rally up even more interest in the show which begins open auditions next month. When I asked another source over at FOX about Cowell’s comments about considering Whitney Houston, they had this to say. “That absolutely rubbish about Simon wanting Whitney as a judge. She’s a national treasure but also a handful that FOX or Pepsi wouldn’t have wanted.”

So, it’s looking like Simon Cowell’s got the next season of ‘X Factor USA’ locked up with some familiar faces just in time for the open auditions that hit next month. It definitely sounds like Pink will be the final judge which would be a great choice. In the meantime, you know Cowell is going to keep feeding the media beast all the way through those auditions. Expect an official announcement in the next two weeks.
