Realizing that people are getting weary of his press hogging, Simon Cowell is finally get down to business and readying both Janet Jackson and Britney Spears his wonderful world of ‘X Factor USA‘.
UPDATED: Now Janet Jackson’s ‘team’ is saying that she’s turning down the ‘X Factor USA’ gig, but then they turned around and said that she was never offered it. I’d definitely get on top of my PR team from contradicting itself. Naturally, when Janet was on Anderson Cooper she would’ve just said it was never offered, etc. rather than playing the coy game. What we’ve heard from our sources over at FOX that I trust much more than a celebrities ‘team’ is that there was a last minute pull out decision. Here’s what they said. “Janet’s [Jackson] team might be saying that she never met with anyone for ‘X Factor’, people from her team definitely did. I think that the realization that this could be a pretty grueling job finally set in and led to this decision.” And again, this is the same source that told us Marcus Canty was voted off the show before it had even aired live along with many other scoops. We saw how Jennifer Lopez got way more out of American Idol than it did with her, and it brought her career 180% back on track. ’X Factor’ definitely could’ve helped Janet get in touch with a younger generation. Onward with the Simon Cowell media circus!
We’ve been told all along that Janet Jackson is all set for judgeship on Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor USA‘, but now after negotiations with several other artists have stalled, it’s looking like Britney Spears can take the last remaining judges chair. Avril Lavigne was rumoured heavily because of her association with LA Reid, but Simon definitely has much more interest in Spears plus she still can generate press and sales.

Cowell’s been pretty vocal about his interest in Spears, and I’ll give her that fact that she’s been through the entire spectrum of celebrity from the highs to the very very lows. She could definitely be a good mentor just in teaching these people how to survive this industry and a sometimes snarky press. He’s been in London a lot having to reevaluate his entire ‘X Factor’ empire now that Cheryl Cole has said a definite no to returning to ‘X Factor UK’. As you can see in the above picture, Cowell’s been out and about easing some stress with pal and ‘X Factor UK’ judge Louis Walsh, who’s got to be one of those people who you don’t want to tell secrets to as he’ll easily spill it. Walsh has been vocal that he’ll be returning to judge ‘UK’ along with the rest of the judges except for Kelly Rowland (who still hasn’t been officially fired, but everyone knows she is) even though no contracts have been signed yet.
Walsh definitely let it slip that Britney is a done deal for Simon so unless some freak of nature happens like a late night shaved head run to a fast food joint or an ex-husband, she’s all set to sit next to Janet Jackson and make small talk with Ryan Seacrest. Yes, those negotiations are still ongoing. So hopefully now they’ll start focusing on the talent since that’s what this show is supposed to actually be about…and even Cowell said that was his big mistake, forgetting that in the first season. The way he’s going after the press now, it’s seems he may be already forgetting.
