Tonia Sotiropoulou might have lost one role to Berenice Marlohe in the upcoming James Bond ‘Skyfall‘, but she landed another role as a 007 (Daniel Craig) girl near the opening of the film.

Tonia Sotiropoulou was determined to get in the new James Bond film ‘Skyfall’ with Daniel Craig, first trying out for the role of Severine, which went to Berenice Marlohe. Then she went in again to talk to director Sam Mendes, who obviously saw the Bond girl in her. She’ll be in the beginning of the film where Bond (our ever faithful Daniel Craig) is smuggled into Istanbul and presumed dead. Our huge Bond fan Miss Sashay quickly pointed out that this was reminiscent of the ‘You Only Live Twice‘ opening.

Rather than putting out a press release, the producers let the very excited actress use her Facebook page to make the big announcement. I’m sure the official release wouldn’t have sounded like hers…it actually reminds me of the infamous Angelea Preston from America’s Next Top Model Twitter statement, but here’s how Sotiopoulou framed it. “Dear friends I officially announce I got a part in J. Bond new film!!! Turkey here I come! Thank u all for you love and support! This is officially the happiest day of my life bitches!!!!”

This is the first major film for the Greek actress who once played the role of the Virgin Mary showing her wide range now. She’s also be appearing next year in an Italian horror film ‘Berberian Sound Studio‘, which revolves around a sound engineer at an Italian horror studio where life starts imitating art.

This is the last role cast for the 23rd film in the James Bond series which is celebrating its 50th year anniversary too along with the fact that it’s on track and looking to be a great comeback after the disappointing to fans ‘Quantum Solace.’ Another big change announced this week is that Heineken beer plays a bigger role over 007′s usual martini drink as the company extended it’s long running relationship with the Bond franchise. The new film is set to break records for featured advertising, by making £28m worth of deals with companies to feature their products. And we know how they love promoting those products!
