The behind the scenes featurette Sony just put out for Nic Cage’s ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance‘ is so worth checking out, and it’s even more exciting than the actual movie! You won’t find many directors getting so into the action directly like Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.

I can say that ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance’ is way better than the original ‘Ghost Rider’, but when the director even says that he doesn’t know what’s going on with the story, you know there’s a problem. The action is fun, Nic Cage has some typical funny lines, but it just gets boring. Now the featurette below is a whole different story. After checking that out, I wished that ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance’ was just 2 1/2 minutes and the featurette was a full length movie.

Yes, it’s that great to watch. Most of the times, the behind the scenes with a director just shows the camera being set up to get great shots, but in this one, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor go to some crazy extremes to get that perfect shot. These are the guys behind ‘Crank‘, and you know how that was just kickass so you get an idea of what they’ll do for a film. I even caught myself wondering about checking out ‘Ghost Rider’ again after seeing this, but then I remembered I had sadly already seen it, but hopefully they’ll turn this behind the scenes into a longer version for the blu-ray version. That alone, will make it worth buying…but only for that one dvd extra.
