Disney is making a bundle re-releasing their hit films in 3D, but unlike other studios that would just pump them out, the Mouse House is making each of them including ‘Finding Nemo 3D‘ looking like a whole new movie.
So many studios just make you hate 3D movies, but Disney is playing it smart and turning their re-release hit animated films into an entirely new experience. ‘The Lion King‘ looked freaking amazing, and I was surprised that it felt like I was seeing that very well known story for the first time. ‘Beauty and the Beast‘ wasn’t my favorite film originally, but after seeing it in 3D, I was just blown away. That one opens this weekend, and if you’ve got an excuse to go, check it out just to be reminded of how brilliant 3D technology can be if in the right hands.
Now ‘Finding Nemo‘ is a whole other story as I loved it in 2D so I this is that rare animated film in 3D I’m really excited to see. The teaser below is obviously in 2D, but if you check out ‘Beauty and the Beast’ this weekend, you’ll see this in 3D glory…it will get you giddy too!
I can only hope that Pixar will put out ‘The Incredibles’ in 3D as that is one that could be amazing. My only hope is that other studios decide to toss out their hit films in 3D, but without all the love and painstaking work. When one studio is making money doing something right, the others follow suit but do it all wrong.
