We keep hearing more about Chuck Norris on ‘The Expendables 2‘, but at least one new image shows the 80′s action hero holy trinity of Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis.
After all the ‘R’ rating and then ‘PG-13′ and back to ‘R’ for ‘The Expendables 2‘, it’s great to just to report new images of what we want to see, those action stars of yesteryear kicking ass, shooting us stuff and doing what they do best. Making movies that are pure fun escape without any thinking required. Randy Couture has already said that we can expect an ‘Expendables 3′ next year as they want to begin filming it this September with Steven Seagal (Lawman). With some of the behind the scenes drama on ‘Expendables 2′, I’m sure the studio is not moving as quickly as the stars would like to make sure it does some decent box office. When rumors also hit that Nicolas Cage might be in this one, I assume that the rumor mill has gotten a little out of control since he seems to be the kiss of death of most action films. Since Jason Statham recently turned down a role with Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson in ‘Fast Six‘, maybe another ‘Expendables’ could happen.
The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal… Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren),Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time — six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that’s nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary who savagely murdered their brother. That is done the Expendables way….
