Disney-Pixar has announced plans to swim forward on the long-awaited sequel to 2003′s father-loses-son movie, Finding Nemo, Deadline.com reports.
Finding Nemo 2: Bad Parenting will follow Nemo (Alexander Gould), who is now a teenager. The clownfish’s relationship with his alcoholic father, Marlin (Albert Brooks), deteriorates after Marlin has too much to drink one night and tells his son to stop taking his money and get a job, or get out of the house.
To find solace, Nemo swims away from home and turns to a life of sex, drugs and drinking. Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) sets off to find Nemo after his dead-beat dad skips town to hole up in a shack down by the reef.
The Mouse House hired Andrew Stanton to helm despite his recent flop, John Carter, after hearing the director’s concept for the movie. Said Disney CEO Bob Iger, ”Anything would’ve been better than Rich Ross’ idea to set it in an ocean below the surface of Mars.”
