Usually fan made trailers suck, but I think after you check out this one for ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ which perfectly combines Michael Cain’s three parts to a magic trick speech with each film in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. This one has reportedly already gotten Nolan’s attention.
Whoever posted this sweet little trailer for ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ yesterday has already grabbed our attention along with Chris Nolan, who reportedly was rather impressed too. I know fan-made usually means crap, especially when it comes to superheroes, but this one looks like it could’ve come straight from any studio with the way it weaves everything together. Just like how Nolan has made all three films in the Batman world flow so well, this trailer does the same with another of Nolan’s great films ‘The Prestige’. You only get the Michael Caine voice from that film, but that’s all you need as each phase of the magic trick blends perfectly into each film of the Batman trilogy.
After watching the red band trailers for ‘Friends With Kids‘ and ‘Wanderlust‘, this one was such a great boost to a ho-hum Friday. If only more studios could learn how to make a riveting trailer with simple footage like this. Hopefully since Nolan likes this, he can keep Warner Bros from yanking it down as this should be checked out and could make a cool little blu-ray extra for the film.
