This one’s been floating out there in the Batverse for a while, and we all know how tight a rein Nolan keeps on his films, but Cilian Murphy has finally been confirmed as returning for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ as the Scarecrow. Most fans will be quite glad to know that the creepy dude is back again joining all the baddies inhabiting Gotham City. Liam Neeson will also be back for a quick cameo which is great as a final farewell to Nolan’s version of the franchise he breathed a whole new life into. Murphy is looking like an extended cameo since there’s such a throng of cast in this film. Thankfully Nolan handles all of this with aplomb as only he can do.

"The Legend ends" Batman wont die, thats not Nolan's style, but its his style to create somewhat of an acceptable cliffhanger, like in Inception. The "legend" of Batman will die, but Batman himself wont. thats my opinion. And I highly doubt he will ruin this trilogy with a prequel. Prequels almost never turn out good, even Prometheus was disappointing. Besides, someone is going to make another batman movie to fit with the upcoming Justice League movie. DC will copy Marvel to make big $

It is not the end of batman. Because this is just like one batman story from a multiverse. Thats how the comic book people explained it to my son. Marvel did the same thing. So now you have multiple varients of each character happening in multiple universes. I think it is weird but my kid buys into it. In 5 to 10 years there will be a new batman series of movies slightly varied from the many many ones made prior.

I'm pretty sure the ending leads to Batman Beyond. If it does, MAKE IT A FILM!

Dark Knight Rises takes place 8 years after The Dark Knight. Nolan can easily make two prequels about what happens in those 8 years. People assumed that Batman was retired but if some big villian came back then Batman would have to put the cape again just a thought.

Nolan will do two more Batman films. I'm calling it now. DC needs Batman to compete with other Marvel movies and Green Lantern and Man of Steel won't be enough.
