Rumors are flying that the low rated ‘L.A. Complex’ is getting a second season on the CW, but the network seems to not be sure as they’re not confirming or denying reports or getting back. Normally a network will say it’s not going to happen so this has got many wondering if the show will live on this summer.

After everyone assumed the CW would be cancelling ‘The L.A. Complex‘ when it had some pretty dismal ratings, actor Andra Fuller commented on his Facebook page that thirteen more episodes had been ordered to run in July. These would be running around the same time as the new episodes would be on MuchMusic in Canada, where the show started. His comment in full is below.
What’s odd is that most networks would immediately say something wasn’t true, but the CW is neither confirming nor denying this so it’s definitely still in play. As we reported earlier in May, I think the CW made a huge mistake in plunking this promising show in April amidst all the other established shows getting ready for May Sweeps. This one should have started in the summer as it would have easily picked up a much bigger audience. Now it’s got a small but very devoted fanbase that will easily grow in the summer months. Even Benjamin Charles Watson took to making a shoutout video to fans of the show that we put on our YouTube channel so at least there were some actors on the show hustling to for its survival.
So for fans of the show that were fearing it would be cancelled, it hasn’t officially yet been cancelled from the CW. I have a feeling it’ll wind up playing in July as Fuller said, but the network probably hates having someone else break the news before they were ready. This is a show that deserves a chance for a summer slot as it’s perfect for it, and remember, many of these dramatic shows got their start during the beachtime months. Stephen Stohn, the executive producer of LA Complex, has confirmed that they will indeed air in the US. He says that the current plan is to run them this summer, simultaneously in both Canada and the US.
We’ll see and let you know when we finally hear back from the CW, but they’re probably still not too happy with us blasting them for wasting such a fun show the way they did.
