In time for his birthday, MMA UFC champion Georges St-Pierre has landed the role of Art in the Quebec-French language version of Disney-Pixar’s Monster’s University. With rumors swirling that the welterweight champ is planning two more fights before retiring, it’s smart  for the man who has accomplished so much already at the age of 32 as he’s already been in a handful of films.

St-Pierre made it official when he tweeted the news early this week:

His character, Art, is a purple shaggy mysterious monster with a questionable background and the strangest member of the Oozma Kappa fraternity at Monsters University.

Monsters University is the animated prequel to the 2001 blockbuster Monsters Inc.

St-Pierre recently concluded filming for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, where he plays the villain role of Batroc the Leaper.

St-Pierre has also had acting roles in the 2009 Hell’s Chain, Never Surrender and Death Warrior.

He is expected to defend his welterweight title against top contender Johny Hendricks later this year.

For those not familiar with the man: he grew as a person and as a fighter. He added fighting disciplines such as boxing, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to his karate background and competed in his first amateur bout at age 16. He won that match, and continued his steady improvement. In 2006 he became the UFC Welterweight Champion. He lost the title in 2007 but subsequently regained it in front of his hometown fans of Montreal in 2008 and hasn’t lost a single title defense since then.

Hugh Jackman’s The Wolverine movie trailer has hit, and he’s definitely got plenty of challenges to overcome as he’s isolated in modern day China. There’s plenty to fight and then he gets to go up against the rather large Silver Samurai. The Samurai reminded me of his Real Steel movie, but something says that it’s not nearly as loveable as the one he made.

The trailer gives a great look at what we can expect from the film, and it definitely looks better than the last one. Jackman gets to really show off his stuff, and it makes for another great addition in another action packed summer.

Remeber when the rebooted Superman Man Of Steel movie was supposed to open last year? Well judging from the latest trailers for the Henry Cavill starrer, it was well worth the wait! I wasn’t looking forward to Zack Snyder’s latest directing effort, even with Christopher Nolan on board, but now I’m really excited to see how this series gets a great overhaul.

Brandon Routh’s Superman Returns attempt wasn’t horrible, but I think Cavill will easily make you forget about that one and hope for a threesome like Nolan did for Batman.

The latest trailer hit yesterday, and it’s got the gritty darkness with a ton of action…and you get to see Superman getting buried in a mountain of skulls. This definitely feels like Nolan had a hand behind the camera and gives Snyder all the credit. That doesn’t matter as long as this film delivers what’s being promised in these latest trailers and clips. Looks like we’ve got another great superhero reboot that’s worth it.

We all had doubts about Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man and that turned out to be a great surprise, and Cavill just looks very steel bodied without needing a padded suit. This guy worked the heck out and looks like a superhero in or out of his costume! There’s not much need of the Tom Hardy Bane CGI to bulk this guy up either.

The West Memphis Three have waited a very very long time for a film adaptation of their decades long ordeal to finally make it to the big screen. The first image from Devil’s Knot has hit showing Reese Witherspoon as Pam Hobbs in a very emotional scene. This film has gone through a lot first landing at USA Networks shortly after one that I myself had written was in full development. There was even another one that announced after mine and DK were being developed after several months…this was back in 2003.

Devil’s Knot then was stuck for some time until Dimension picked it up three years later. This is truly a project that all of us knew was a passion project that enveloped us all, but getting a studio to understand the importance of the story was a whole other story. As has reported, there’s been plenty of squabbling amongst competing WM3 projects which just seemed like such a waste as there’s plenty of room for all. We went through a similar experience which just seemed ridiculous, but as I learned the person who threatens and squeals the loudest gets their way as it just isn’t worth the hassle they are causing.

Thankfully, one of the films made it, but it appears that it cost the friendship between real West Memphis Three Damien Echols and Jason Baldwin. I’m hoping that Damien’s concerns with the scripts don’t turn out to be accurate as there were some things in that from way back that seemed more sensational dramatization than truth.

I was fortunate to have the people behind the website that really helped push the WM3 story to the forefront after Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky’s Paradise Lost films develop the poster art for ours which was to be called West Memphis Three. I was glad to see that Devil’s Knot used the main images that we did in our for theirs in the artwork for the American Film Market. It’s great that ours didn’t go to waste and lives on in theirs.

Atom Egoyan directed this version, and I can’t wait to see his take on the story. Also, here’s our script of  ‘West Memphis Three‘ for those that want to compare after this one comes out. I’ve really enjoyed Egoyan’s films, and I do hope the real story is given the respect and integrity it deserves.

Everyone’s favorite zombie killer, Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) has a pretty powerful film coming out next month showing the hardcore effects of bullying called Hello Herman. Yes, we’ve gotten used to the ‘It Gets Better’ campaigns and everyone talking about it, but this film takes quite a different approach with it.

I’ll be watching this tonight and reviewing for an interview with both the filmmaker Michelle Danner and Reedus, and I’m expecting it to pack quite the punch. For some reason, the trailer reminded me of the feel of the indie gem Closet Land with Alan Rickman, and I really like the point of view of this film. This is what Danner had to say about why she chose to take on this film.

Below you can check out Reedus talking about why he chose to be part of this film along with some great behind the scenes footage. On this set, you definitely had to lighten the mode I’m sure when dealing with such powerful scenes as the pic of him photo bombing the set shows.

I’d not heard a lot about this film so I’m glad it was brought to my attention as these are the ones we really love to make sure you all check out. Taking on passion projects like this is why Reedus is everyone’s favorite Judas and zombie killer! The trailer is below too and you’ll see what I mean in how it packs quite the punch.

Everyone’s favorite Angel and FBI agent Seeley Booth’s David Boreanaz has a birthday today, and he’ll be spending the upcoming weekend sharing some advice to the 2013 graduating class at Ithaca College. All of you have sent us plenty of his images and a couple even sent in videos for his birthday so we’re putting up all the images and the videos. Be warned, there’s close to a thousand images of the man so you’ll have plenty to look at plus we’ve put together a fun sexy set if you’re just looking for those types that are safe for work.

Now on to some Bones Season 9 stuff. There are some spoilers below so if you want to avoid, just skip on down below to the images and videos. The season ended with that evil little troll Pelant (played perfectly by guest star Andrew Leeds) putting Seeley and Brennan’s (Emily Deschanel) relationship and future in peril. The plots seemed to cool down a bit once the baby came in the picture so at least they’re spicing it up again. You can understand why Boreanaz said he wasn’t sure about returning for Season 8. I thought the show would end after this one but they perked it up to keep it going and keep us coming back.

It was heartbreaking when Booth had to break off the engagement without being able to say why and next season will begin with a jump in time showing the strain in their relationship. Naturally Peland will get caught, but that’s not going to do anything to heal what’s been done between them. Booth’s son Parker will be back too after quite a long absence. Now here’s all the info on that commencement speach he’ll be giving. An interesting note is that many of the students he’ll be speaking to were born the same year he graduated from the college.

Television and film actor David Boreanaz will return to his alma mater to deliver the main address at Ithaca College’s 118th Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 19. He is best known for his starring roles on the television series “Bones,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel.”

Boreanaz will speak to some 1,610 graduates and their guests at the 10:00 a.m. ceremony at Butterfield Stadium. He earned his degree in cinema and photography in 1991 from the Roy H. Park School of Communications.

Also making remarks at Commencement will be Ithaca College president Tom Rochon, senior class president Rachel Heiss and board of trustees chairman Tom Grape ’80.

For the past eight years, Boreanaz has earned rave reviews as FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth on the Fox crime drama “Bones,” where he helps bring justice for murder victims. He also serves as one of the show’s producers and has directed a number of episodes, including the season-ender which aired on April 29.

Boreanaz had gone to Hollywood shortly after graduating from Ithaca College, working a series of odd jobs before breaking into show business as an uncredited extra in such films as “Aspen Extreme” and then earning a guest-starring role as Kelly Bundy’s biker boyfriend on the television series “Married… with Children.”

But it wasn’t until 1997 that Boreanaz was thrust into the limelight — if not the daylight — when he was cast as the vampire-with-a-soul Angel on the WB network’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” For three seasons he played Buffy’s on-again/off-again 242-year-old love interest as the series gained a cult following. His character became so popular that a spin-off was created, giving him the opportunity to headline his own series for another five seasons.

Boreanaz has his share of big-screen acting credits as well, including the thriller “Valentine,” sports drama “The Mighty Macs,” black comedy “Suffering Man’s Charity” and crime drama “Officer Down.” He can be heard as the voice of the superhero Green Lantern in the animated feature “Justice League: The New Frontier.” On the stage, he has starred in off-Broadway’s “Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell” as well as in productions of “Hat Full of Rain,” “Fool for Love” and “Italian-American Reconciliation.”

In 2001, the Ithaca College Alumni Association recognized him with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. In 2011, the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters jointly honored Boreanaz and his father — former longtime Philadelphia TV weatherman Dave Roberts — with its gold medal.

Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger originally had low expectations, but with each trailer, people have quickly warmed up to the Johnny Depp Armie Hammer action film. You know from the trailers alone it’s going to be a lot of action on top of action. It was originally slated for a Memorial Day release but with the Starship Enterprise hovering over that timeframe, they wisely pushed it back to July 4th weekend.

The latest posters include a two-month teaser one with Armie Hammer riding his horse and an International one for the Israeli marketplace. Both of those are just below.

This Tooth Fairy has some bite in The Haunting Of Helena aka Fairy Tale. The poster below will definitely grab your attention in this film about a single mother who moves to a new home with her daughter and strange things begin to happen. Yup, it sounds like your basic horror set-up, but there’s plenty of good moments in this one although the mother character (Harriet Mac Masters Green) is a bit frustrating as you’ll wonder just why and how she was able to keep custody of her daughter. Visually, this is a pretty stunning film as their is quite the Italian exploitation influence with shooting style. As in classic Italian horror films, there’s not a lot of special effects here, but they’re not needed. The creepiness begins slow and then rises slowly to get under your skin before you get the big scare payoff.

For anyone who’s had their own fear of the Tooth Fairy, this film will only solidify them along with making sure that those with room under their bed will be checking them after seeing this film. With horror films, the ending is pretty much easy to figure out before the first act is over, but this one has a final act that you won’t see coming.
