For the past couple days, Best Movies Ever is having a nice red scary box introduce saying the site has malware and ‘Beware!’. I was freaked out that something was causing visitors problems from our site, but it turns out there was never a problem, but IZEA media, who runs ads on our side, was the culprit.
This has affected literally thousands of sites from them and sadly it makes it scary to even come in to read and visit us. It seems that this has been happening to many ad services have been hit with this and yesterday IZEA Media was the latest. Sadly, they didn’t put an e-mail to all the publishers on the system so many may not even know that they’ve been blacklisted by Google when it’s not even their fault. Being blacklisted means losing all your Google News indexed posts along with Google Images. Even worse, every indexed post of yours that shows up in a Google Search comes with a warning stating that ‘This site may harm your computer’ further driving your readers and potential new readers away.
Thankfully our web gurus here are quick at spotting where the problem starts and nipping it in the bud. Now we’re just waiting for Google to finally get our review request and see that our site is very clean for everyone.
So rest assured Best Movies Ever Entertainment News is not infected with Malware and doesn’t pose any risk to anyone checking in, but I know how intimidating the big red scary box is to most people.
What we’ve done in the meantime is send in Malware Reconsideration Request through Google Web Master tools. Now for those of you that may be having the same issues you can try the steps below.
Request a malware review:
On the Webmaster Tools Home page, select the site you want.
Click Health, and then click Malware.
Click Request a review.
In the meantime, we’re already working on our Holiday Shop since so many of you readers asked if we were doing it again like last year. Yes, and it’s going to be even bigger and prettier than ever….and much easier to navigate to find whatever you want. Miss Sashay is putting together our 2012 Gift Guide which will now include gift ideas for everyone in the family and even extended family. They’re beautiful, and once Google gets us back on track you all will get your free copies!
