Vin Diesel is taking time out for the fans, and he’s put out a couple more ‘Riddick‘ movie images fresh from production. This is one film that he’s obviously taken control of since his fanbase on Facebook is much larger than most mainstream magazines could dream of.
When you’ve got nearly 30 million Facebook fans, it’s hard for the studios to tell the star how to market their film, and Vin Diesel is keeping his loyal base happy and up to date from the production of ‘Riddick‘. As I said in our review on ‘Fast Five‘ (which I loved), Diesel’s been given a second chance at action stardom after veering off into family comedy world, and he’s making sure to hold on for dear life this time. He’s definitely taken a page from the Sylvester Stallone career playbook which is smart.
Diesel’s message with his latest images is this.
First time I posted about Riddick was back in 2009, Facebook was fresh…
They were asking me to come to the headquarters to talk about this new concept of communicating with fans. I was proud to lead that wave, yet all I was doing, was opening up about my passion – film.
So this picture of Our 2012 production of Riddick, is a cool victory for all of us… it shows that studios can be influenced by your voice.

Sweet message, but as we know, the studios don’t give a crap about the fans voice. If it hadn’t been for the major box office from ‘Fast Five’, Riddick would have been still a pipedream for the man. We know how much he put into ‘Fast Five’, so he knew too that everything was riding on that film and Diesel gave the fans what they originally loved him for way back in ‘Fast and the Furious‘.
