There seems to be hesitancy towards Timur Bekmambetov’s ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter‘, and I’m sure when Tim Burton compares the character to a superhero like Batman, eyes will roll. At least Burton does know something about Batman though.

‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter‘ is one film I’m giving the benefit of the doubt as it looks pretty amazing, and while some may think it should be more ‘tongue in cheek’, they don’t really have any experience in filmmaking so let producers like Tim Burton go with their gut and we’ll see how it shakes out. Coming from a filmmaker stance, I can understand wanting to take this and run with it as an full out action film, and it just might surprise everyone. We already know that ‘The Avengers‘ and ‘The Dark Knight Rise’s‘ are the summer blockbusters of the year, but it’s nice to have some fallback ones to enjoy too. Abraham Lincoln might just get a surprise at the box office from the readers of the Seth Grahame-Smith book who is featured in the below featurette with Tim Burton and director Bekmambetov. It will definitely be a fun to watch on blu-ray, and you know it’ll be timed to hit at Halloween.
