We’ve been covering the 2012 London Olympic Games pretty heavily since Cheryl Shanka has been over there with her team, but we did find some amusing aspects of the Games like some of the funnier unfortunate names of a 24 athletes. Check below and you’ll understand.
I know it’s juvenile, but we’ve all grown up with people that had those interesting names that made us giggle and the 2012 London Olympic Games has it’s own share of them. Brent Newdick of New Zealand even did an interview discussing the American slang version of his name below. He’s a good sport and rather funny about it too as you’ll see. So here’s a cornucopia of Olympics athletes with some unintentionally funny names…at least to us here at Best Movies Ever News.
I’m sure this Chris Brown has had many scratching their heads wondering why he’s treating women so nicely.
Jack Butland: This one sounds like the fantasy land where many men and women wouldn’t mind visiting.
Friederike Belcher: Yes, the name says it all, but I’m sure it’s pronounced to sound different…but then I watched the announcers, and they said it like what it reads.
Dong Dong: Can you imagine if he’d been raised her in America? Goodness knows we all like a double dong sometimes.
Destinee Hooker: It’s like the red headed Destiny’s Child member that never quite made it.
Funny enough Yoki Takeshita doesn’t seem to be one to take much of it though.
Karen Cockburn sounds like the Clerks 2 Pillow Pants warning most moms want their sons to be aware of.
Liam Tancock seems to be the right name if you spend an evening with Karen Cockburn.
Mark Anthony: If you can survive Jennifer Lopez then the Olympics are a walk in the park.
If Vagelis Himonas doesn’t make you smirk, I don’t know what will.
Victoria Poon…now if she marries someone with the last name Tang and hyphenates…
Yoo Suk kim can be used in so many different ways.
