Even with Clint Eastwood’s latest film ‘J Edgar’ hitting in just weeks, I’m surprised the marketing has been pretty quiet, so we’re here to help with a slew of new images from the film and the trailer below.
It’s definitely a much different marketing plan for Clint Eastwood’s ‘J Edgar’ than his last one ‘Hereafter’, but then there’s no massive tidal wave crashing over a town to push in a trailer trying to make it seem like an action movie. This time, it’s more quiet which might wind up helping this latest with Leonardo Dicaprio, who’s been making some very big choices over the past decade. This one may not be a huge blockbuster, but it should score some good nomination and awards.
With the way things are i.e. Occupy Wallstreet and the upcoming election, ‘J. Edgar’ could serve as a reminder that history can easily repeat itself, and it has many times. Whenever the people start to make the government nervous, that’s when someone like Hoover comes along to take advantage and wind up ignoring many of the facets of our Constitution. As you can see from the trailer below, Eastwood and Dicaprio make a really good team. Maybe not as great as with Martin Scorsese, but it’s great to see Leo sharing the love with other directors for big projects like this.
